Northern Idaho Gravel and Trails
Experience Northern Idaho at its finest. Join us for some pedaling on spectacular gravel roads and rail trails on this four night fully loaded tour.
The Idaho panhandle is full of beautiful forests, smooth gravel roads, and epic rail trails. You'll meet your leader at Heyburn State Park in Plummer to spend a night camping at the park and preparing for a morning departure.
The next morning you'll hop onto the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene, a non-motorized trail that offers a day of easy pedaling. A night camping in the mountains will leave you rested to continue down the trail. Headed towards historic Wallace, be sure to stop downtown at the Center of the Universe. The next day pedal on the NorPac Trail towards Lookout Pass, into Montana, where we will catch the route of the Hiawatha.
This old railroad bed converted to a scenic trail features 7 trestle bridges and 10 tunnels. Stop at the interpretive signs to learn some of the area’s rich history on your 15 mile gravel descent. Dropping into the St. Joe River canyon we will spend the night camping along the river.
You will spend the next day riding another gravel rail trail towards St. Maries, Idaho. Once in St. Maries, enjoy a lunch with your new friends before ending the tour back in Plummer.
