DESCRIPTION:

Biking the Pacific Coast Highway should be on every touring cyclist's bucket list. Starting from San Francisco, pedal south through the surf towns of Half moon Bay and Santa Cruz (watch out for vampires). Pass through Big Sur, home to some of the most beautiful and rugged coastline in the country.

As you head further south the sun will become more frequent and the waters of the Pacific will become more inviting. Farmlands, sandy beaches, and smooth asphalt roads are plentiful on these warm California days. Enjoy beautiful scenery and magnificent houses as you pedal through Malibu towards Los Angeles. 

 

A night in Hostelling International's Santa Monica location will be a treat after a few long days in the saddle. Spend the next few days pedaling through some prime surf towns as you make your way towards San Diego and finally to the US/Mexico border.
